I read this and was really inspired to try to reach my own potential. I'm unfortunately not going to be a math genius like you, but I can try to use my mind to the best of my ability. I'm planning to get a copy of the book on Kindle soon. Thank you for your public intellectual work Dr. Dembski, what you're doing matters to a lot of people.

Great article. It reminds me of something I read many years ago. I don't recall the specifics, but the gist of it was as follows. A young Jewish guy (IIRC) gets his PhD in physics, but he decides to take an atypical career path. He decides to become a high-school physics teacher to inspire young students in an underprivileged school. He's a real idealist, and he works hard to inspire and educate minority students.

He does a good job. But his colleagues are offended because they think he makes them look bad in comparison. They fight him at every step, and the school administration throws up all kinds of road blocks to thwart his mission. That continues for a few years, and finally he gives up and quits. The blob wins. It is a sad but telling story about the state of education today. High-performance teaching is discouraged.
